Clubs and Meetings:
- We’ve changed our meeting day! The Gay-Straight Alliance meets Monday at lunch in room 33. All welcome!
- Not old enough to vote yet? Make yourself heard. The Paly JSA is hosting a mock presidential primary election. Come out Super Tuesday during brunch and lunch to the quad and vote!
- 9 – 11th graders: Menlo School is hosting a Summer Opportunity Fair this Sunday, February 3rd from 10 am – 1 pm. The following program types will be represented: camps, trips, community service, education programs, college tours, and more. College and Career:
- You must have teacher's permission one day in advance to attend a college rep visit. Pick up form in CCC or download from paly.net/college. Bring it the day the visit.
- Come to the College and Career Center on Tuesday, February 5th at 9:50 to find out how you can live what you believe. Learn more about The Woolman Semester; it offers students in their junior, senior and post-graduate year the opportunity to focus on the studies on peace, social justice and environmental sustainability, while earning full high-school credit on our 230-acre campus in Northern California.
- Representatives from Stanford University's High School Summer College will Feb. 7th at 9:30 a.m. to discuss an eight-week summer college program. (Cernobori)
Seniors:
- If you did not pick up your Josten’s graduation order, announcements, etc., please pick it up in the Auditor’s Office today. If you only ordered and cap and gown you will get those in May. (Mullins)
- Are you a current senior who was in TEAM? Dr. McEvoy would like some reflections on your experience at Paly. If you can join us for lunch in the ERC on Friday let Mrs. Benfield know. (Benfield)
- Please see the Registrar about your Boston College applications if you did one. There seems to be a problem with them for many of you. (Brown)
- Foothill College will sponsor a Line-by-Line FAFSA workshop at their Cash for College Event at the 4000 Middlefield Campus (room J-2) in Palo Alto tomorrow Saturday, February 2nd at 10:30 am and again at noon. Financial aid counselors will also be available to help families one-on-one to complete the FAFSA. - Reminder: Paly’s Community Scholarship Applications are due to Ms. Cernobori Friday, February 8th. If you’re applying for a need-based scholarship, remember to attach a copy of your FAFSA Student Aid Report. Athletics:
- Track practice has started. The last day to join is Feb. 4 (Mullins)
- Last day for softball tryouts for girls not in a winter sport is February 4th. Meet at 3:30 on the softball field. If you are in a winter sport, come out when your season is over. (Larson)
- Badminton tryouts are on Friday after school in the big gym.
