General:
- Eat at Chevy’s tomorrow, Tuesday, April 8, between 11am – 10 pm. Invite your family and friends to eat at our Chevy’s Fundraising Event! Chevy’s will donate 25% of the proceeds to Paly’s Not In Our School Week. Have fun, raise money, make a difference!
- Are you a performer? Can you dance, sing or rap? Are you part of a performing group? If so, we’d love to include you in our Not In Our School celebration. Contact Ms/ Rivera via email at mrivera@pausd.org. (Rivera)

Clubs and Meetings:

- The National Honor Society meets Wednesday in room 402. All members should attend and new members are welcome.
College and Career:
- President’s Awards applications are due April 9. Turn them into the Registrar in the Guidance Office. (Sinton)
- Wow: That’s Engineering! Experience the creativity and innovation of engineering and technology through hands-on activities. This free girls-only event is brought to you by the Society of Women Engineers and takes place at National Hispanic University on Sunday, April 26 from 9:30am – 2 pm. - Applications for the Chicano Latino Youth Leadership Project Summer Conference will be accepted until April 18th. The conference is in Sacramento from July 26 – Aug 2. Come to the College & Career Center for more information & application.
- COLLEGE REP VISITS You must have teacher's permission one day in advance to attend. Pick up a form in the CCC or download from paly.net/college and bring it with you the day of the visit.

2008 CAA/NBFAA Youth (formerly California Alarm Association) Youth scholarship Program – Seniors who are children of law enforcement or fire service personnel. Must attend accredited college or university. 500-700 word essay on “How our father, mother, or guardian help us secure our community.” Applicant must have a father, mother or legal guardian who is a full-time active duty employee and not on disability. The parent or guardian must be a member of a low enforcement agency or a full-time paid or volunteer member of a fire department located in California. Applicants must submit official high school transcript, proof of acceptance to college and proof of parent’s occupation. Awards of $750 to $1,000 for California recipients will be based on GPA, SAT scores, essay and extracurricular activities. Palo Alto Rotary Club – Vocational Scholarships – Seniors who are interested in enrolling in a vocational program at regional schools such as Foothill, Canada, DeAnza Community Colleges, OICW, or California Culinary Academy. Application includes a personal statement. Up to fifteen scholarships from $1,000 to $1,500. Italian American Heritage Foundation – Seniors of Italian heritage who attend school in Santa Clara County and will be attending an accredited college or university. Criteria include financial need, essay, extra curricular and community activities, educational goals, and GPA. Application, two letters of recommendation and a letter from parent or guardian substantiating financial need are required. 2 - $2,000 I.A.H.F. scholarships and
1 - $2,000 Diana Hurst Fund scholarship and 1 - $1,000 John DeVincenzi Scholarship Fund to be awarded. Vietnamese Physician Ass’n of No. Cal – Vietnamese descent seniors from Northern California with financial hardship planning to attend college in the summer or fall of 2007 may apply for these $1,000 scholarships. Applicants must have a GPA of 3.5 or greater, submit the three page application including a personal essay along with high school transcript, two letters of recommendations and a copy of your parents’ income tax return.
