Today’s assignment - “Practice random kindness and senseless acts of beauty”

General:

  1. Not In Our School Week events: Today at lunch, come watch “Urban Styles,” a jazz, hip-hop dance group, and participate in today’s activity, “Dissolving Sterotypes.” Come on out. (Benfield)
  2. FREE barbecue tomorrow at lunch brought to you by your Student Diversity Coalition in honor of NIOS week. Come celebrate a great week. The Library will be closed for this event.(Benfield)
  3. “An Inconvenient Ride” – Special visitors will be here today from Chief Stealth High School in Seattle as a stop on a 5,200 mile bike ride to raise awareness of environmental issues. They’ll be out on the quad at lunch, helping us celebrate Not in Our School Week. Come hear what they have to say and give them a fine Paly welcome. (Benfield)
  4. Take classes in graphic design/animation and cosmetology this summer. Held at Fremont High School and Monterey Academy in Santa Clara. Ten credits. Call Ms. Martinez at 868-93333 for information. (ROP)
  5. Need community service? Come this Saturday to build medical kits that will be sent to treat AIDS victims in Africa – 10 a.m. in the Student Center. (Mullins)
  6. There will be yoga today in the ERC at 3:15. It is open to everyone. Wear comfortable clothes so you can stretch. (Vilms)
  7. Mandatory AP pre-test registration today at 11:05 in the Theater. Bring a #2 pencil, your lunch and something to write on. (Shepard)
  8. Auto Shop gas saver tip – inflate the tires on your car to 32psi or 35psi if you consistently give rides to your friends. (Knight)

Clubs and Meetings:

  1. Swing Dance Club meets today at lunch in the Dance Studio. (Gibson)
  2. Mexico Choir meets today at lunch in room 110. (Najar)

Athletics:
Stunt Team workshop is today after school in the Dance Studio. We need 8 guys and 8 girls who want to learn challenging stunts and back flips. Hope to see you there. (McDaniel)
College and Career:

  1. FIDM (Fashion Institute) is having an open house in San Francisco on Saturday. If you like fashion design this is for you. More info in the C&CC. (Sinton)
  2. Planning to attend Foothill College? Get all the information you need, or register at Day on the Hill, April 30. Applications are in the C&CC. (Sinton)
  3. College Rep Visits: You must have teacher’s permission one day in advance. Pick up a form in the CCC or download from paly.net/college and bring it with you the day of the visit.
