General:

  1. The library will be closed today––all day. (Shepard)
  2. During AP testing, CL1 (portable behind Math) is open at brunch and lunch. (Yanez)
  3. ASB elections today on the quad at lunch. (Mullins)
  4. Attention: Seniors… You must hand in your senior survey to be eligible for tickets to graduation.  Questions?  See Ms. Deggelman in the Guidance Office.
  5. STAR test tomorrow & Thurs. all day. Remember to bring at least two #2 pencils.  Make-ups will be in SSRC on Fri. Students were sent a letter with room assignments. If not, check the window in Guidance. No regular classes on STAR test days. Not in tests or a supervised activity? Don’t be on campus. Friday is a regular day. (Laurence)
  6. The Green Team invites you to Bike-To-Work Energizer stations.  To support bike day, there will be TWO stations with Jamba Juice and coffee cake for everyone who bikes to school on Thursday.  Locations: Churchill by the tracks and the quad by bike racks from 7 – 8am.  (Martin/Wixsom)
  7. 15 million children die of hunger every year.  Raise hunger awareness by fasting for 24 hours next Friday, May 23, The Fast For Awareness. (McNulty)
  8. AP English applicants: please pick up your College English portfolio from the English Office by May 23. You may need it for college applications. After that date your portfolios will be recycled. (Klein)

Clubs and Meetings:

  1. Key Club meets tomorrow in room 214 at lunch. (McNulty)
  2. Best Buddies meets today at lunch in room P7.  (Rivera)
  3. Men’s Chorus meets today at lunch. Early birds get pepperoni. (Najar)

College and Career:

  1. Get help with community college online application. Workshops today at lunch and after school in CL1.  Bring SS#. Upon completion you receive ID to register for placement tests. (Cernobori)
  2. De Anza's 2nd annual New Student & Parent Night is tomorrow, 6:30 - 8 p.m. in the Gym(PE2). Attend to register for orientation and get early Fall registration. Free parking in Stelling Parking Structure. (Cernobori)
  3. CSU Early Assessment Program (EAP) and STAR testing:  Two 15-question voluntary sections on STAR tests in English Lang. Arts and Math.  We encourage you to take them and participate in CSU EAP program; students’ performance can earn exemptions from CSU-required English and Math placement testing. There is also a question on the CSU application that asks students if they have participated in the EAP program.  For more information, see www.CSUSuccess.org/juniors. (Cernobori)
